The Industry Training Federation is the member organisation for New Zealand's Industry Training Organisations.
Around 145,000 workers in about 30,000 workplaces are involved in Industry Training in New Zealand. It is a system unique to our country that allows for a formal process to increase and develop skills in the workplace which is linked to our national qualifications system.
Government support this through funding through the Tertiary Education system and the industry contribution comes through a mixture of cash and in-kind support.
Industry Training Organisations arrange the training, set the standards for qualifications, and work with industry to determine skill development needs.
