The NZ Vocational Education and Training Forum now in its 8th year, focuses on research conducted on skills, workplace, and vocational education-related issues.

Dr Stephen Billett of Griffith University, Australia will provide the international keynote address for the 2011 research forum.  Dr Billett will be speaking about decision-making and engagement in vocational education, arguing that the provision of vocational education needs to include space for engagement by learners, enterprises and teachers, as well as spokespersons for industry sectors.

Other plenary speakers will include Dr Jane Bryson of Victoria University, who will speak on lifting performance through facilitating capability, and Jeremy Baker, the ITF’s Executive Director, who will present findings from the Identifying and Reporting the Value Added from Training project.

Concurrent sessions from national and international speakers will cover a wide range of topics, from how to enhance successful workplace learning, to linking training to strategic industry needs, to how skills are transferred from training to the workplace.
