Ian Elliott, Chief Executive of the Plumbing, Gasfitting, Drainlaying & Roofing ITO, is the new Chair of the Industry Training Federation.
He was elected at this morning’s Annual General Meeting, replacing Kevin Bryant who did not stand for re-election.
Mr Elliott said it was an exciting, yet challenging, time for tertiary education and training, and he looked forward to leading a board that was interested in great outcomes in skill development.
“We are increasingly working with schools and providers to promote the needs of industry and ensure that funding that is invested in skill development is used widely.”
Three new board members were also elected. They are:
• Richard Westlake (Chair of Careerforce)
• Barbara Wilkinson (Chief Executive of PAMPITO)
• Garry Fissenden (Chief Executive of ETITO)
They replace Austen Banks, Greg Durkin, and Wayne Smith, who did not stand for re-election.
