ITF Annual Conference 2008
Investing in Skills and Productivity

The 2008 ITF Conference provides an opportunity not only to celebrate the successes of industry training, but to discuss the emerging role of ITOs and their role in contributing to New Zealand’s productivity.

Accordingly, the theme for the 2008 Industry Training Federation Conference is Investing in Skills and Productivity. This reflects the key relationship ITOs have with firms, workers, and government in developing and utilising skills.

Better productivity can not be achieved through skills development alone, but also needs to ensure that those skills are utilised effectively. In other words, if the skills we invest in are not used, we do not get the productivity gains we need.

The conference is widely attended by a broad range of stakeholders including industry leaders, government agencies, economists, governors and senior staff from Industry Training Organisations, tertiary education providers as well as an increasing number of international guests involved in vocational education and training.

We are delighted with the calibre of this year’s speakers both international and from our own shores and we look forward to sharing their insights with you.

The federation would like to thank our conference partners the Department of Labour, Ako Aotearoa and the New Zealand Qualifications Authority for helping make this conference possible.
