Profiling literacy and numeracy skills required in jobs

Literacy and numeracy skill profiles for jobs are useful tools for ITOs to communicate with employers and trainees about the skill requirements of the job. These can also be used to link the job skill requirements to the skill requirements of the vocational qualifications.

The July 2009 version of the Industry Skills Toolkit includes information about the core skills of literacy and numeracy taken from the Adult Literacy and Life Skills Survey. It gives a level of detail about the skills that workers have and how these are changing over time.
