Industry Support Advisor – Tranzqual - Wellington

Reporting to the Senior Business Systems Analyst, this fixed term position isbased in our national office in Wellington. The reason the role is fixed termis that we are implementing a new trainee management database system in Julythis year and we expect this to impact on the job requirements of the IndustrySupport team. Once the new database is bedded in we will be able to betterassess our workforce needs in the Industry Support section of our business. 

The Industry Support Role involves: 

  • Data entry processing of training related documents to a high standard of accuracy and within required timelines.
  • Simple analysis of data to resolve client queries and problems.
  • Filing of hard copy training related documents in a timely and accurate manner.
This role would be best suited to a person who has experience in alpha numericWindows based data entry systems. The right candidate should be able todemonstrate computer skills at intermediate to advanced levels and maintain ahigh level of speed and accuracy (word, excel, database applications, includinginternet capability). A typing speed of 7000+ key stokes per hour would bedesirable.

Applicants should be great team players and have a proven ability to work todeadlines. They should have good organisational and planning skills and beprocess orientated and self disciplined to complete tasks efficiently and ontime. A customer service focus combined with a good telephone tone and manneris essential.

  • planning and directing the activities of the Regional Industry Training team ensuring that they are motivated to achieve their sales targets
  • leading the planning of the business focus including the sales, marketing and new business development strategies for the operations group
  • planning and preparing budgets and regional plans with team members that reflect organisational goals
  • project planning, management and quality review experience.

We are looking for people with ITO experience with the following mix of skills and experience who can “hit the ground running”:

  • The development of high quality learning resources
  • Able to effectively consult with subject specialists and end users
  • The ability to translates technical information for non-technical or learner audiences
  • Embedding literacy and numeracy into learning materials
  • Using plain English and developing clear, usable materials targeted to the readership and market
  • Editing, Proofreading
  • InDesign design and publishing software application (desirable)
  • Pre-press, printing and distribution processes (desirable)
  • Hands-on project management

Training Advisor / Relationship Manager - Retail Institute - New Plymouth

The Retail Institute, the Industry Training Organisation for the retail sector is expanding their operation and looking for another Training Advisor / Relationship Manager working in the Taranaki region to join the national team.  

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a very friendly, progressive and professional team and continue to implement the recent changes in the way that the Retail Institute approaches their target market.

We are looking for someone with the following skills and attributes:

  • Well developed communication and relationship building skills
  • Able to deal with a very wide range of people ranging from the Mayor through to a young industry trainee
  • Knowledge of key networks and contacts in the Taranaki  region
  • Understanding of the service sector and related wholesale and distribution industries
  • A high level of customer service skills that reflect positively on the Retail Institute and the Service Centre of Excellence partners. 
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working to targets
  • Able to demonstrate initiative and creativity
  • Results focused and able to complete projects in a timely fashion to a high standard
  • Demonstrate an ability to act as an adviser on training issues to employers and their staff
  • Able to work autonomously, manage a wide geographic territory and manage your timer effectively

Other desirable skills and attributes include: 

  • An understanding of the labour market and skill development issues that are relevant to those industries
  • An understanding of training and education principles and processes, particularly for adult learners in an employment setting
  • Knowledge of the National Qualifications framework and unit standard based training
  • Has completed or is able to complete Unit Standard 4098 (Use standards to assess candidate performance)
