Researchers, educators, government officials and industry representatives with attend a two day event in Wellington, co-hosted by the Industry Training Federation and Ako Aotearoa, to discuss initiatives and evidence that support good-quality vocational and professional education.

The Industry Training Federation (ITF) congratulates the hundreds of New Zealand secondary schools that have broadened senior curriculum through offering vocational pathways to senior students.
ITF also congratulates thousands of young kiwis that have boosted their future options by gaining practical skills for life and work as part of their NCEA qualifications.

Labour's plan, if elected, to increase apprenticeships and improve pathways from school to work is welcome, says the Industry Training Federation (ITF).
Labour has committed to strengthening the careers profession through investing in careers advice in schools, including careers education in the New Zealand Curriculum, and critically, strengthening partnerships between schools, businesses and training providers.

Extending workplace literacy funding to industry training is an essential economic and social investment for New Zealand, says the Industry Training Federation.
Tertiary Education Minister Steven Joyce confirmed today the government's additional investment in workplace literacy in Budget 2016 will be extended to industry trainees working towards Level 1 and 2 qualifications.
